Thursday Thirteen...Yes I'm still sick.

Thirteen things that were different when I was a kid, stolen from Lauren1. Computers were for the government or mad scientists. 2. Atari BLEW OUR FREAKING MINDS. 3. We used rotary phones and if you called someone who was on the phone you got a busy signal. 4. Sometimes you had to share phone lines with other people that lived nearby, so if they were on the phone you had to wait till they were done to make a call. 5. Our parents bought us Converse or Vans sneakers because they were very affordable and lasted forever. 6. I thought we were moving up in the technological age when we shifted from Beta Max to VHS. 7. DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATERS! 8. Pop music was actually good. 9. The highest gas prices got was like $1.35 a gallon and THAT was atrocious. 10. People used phone booths instead of cell phones and it was ten cents to make a call. Only Drs. and Lawyers had pagers and they were the size of a Walkman. 11. Comedy was really funny, not the same over-produced, milk-it-for-all-its-worth, horseshit we see today. You could make fun of anything because people weren't so highstrung and uptight about every little thing. Remember Blazing Saddles anyone? 12. No "Gangsta Rap" music. Can you imagine? 13. Visibility was much higher, bars on the windows were very rare and you didn't have to worry about being asked "Where you from?" if you were playing outside with your friends.
